During the winter months, not only do the ski areas open their doors, but the cross-country skiing trails in the region are also freshly prepared and ready for sporty maneuvers through the enchanting winter landscape. In our direct surroundings, there are more than 33 km of trails available!
Cross-country skiing right at Hotel Waldheim
Would you like to start your morning with an impromptu cross-country skiing tour? All you have to do is walk outside the hotel, ski 20 meters, and you will have access to the Strasser Trail! This loop trail has a length of 800 meters with a level elevation profile. The Edenlehen Trail with a length of 1.8 km begins just a short walk away.
Awaiting all winter sports fans north of Mayrhofen is an entire collection of cross-country trails. For ambitious cross-country skiers, we recommend the Allianz Burgschrofen marathon trail with a length of 4.3 km and a challenging climb. Other alternatives include the Moser Trail, the Durst Trail, or the Hollenzen Trail.
Schwendberg High-Altitude Trail
Cross-country skiing at lofty heights is an alpine highlight for winter sports fans. The high-caliber Schwendberg high-altitude trail has a length of 7.6 km at an elevation of 1,390 m.
You can reach the start by bus or car, and this trip (14 km) will take around 25 min. The route leads mostly through snow-covered forests, but you will pass by open areas with far-reaching views down into the valley.
